.: Love and Rage

A requiem for wasted youth,
uncouth and far too clever.
Never really innocent,
[though well-read] still ignorant.

Misled by elders and grown ups,
now I can't seem to grow up.
So I shrink away
from fake affection.
[doesn't take direction]

No, I don't vote in elections,
I'm fed up with the factions
Reactionary
Ready to mask up,
armed with fact; we come
correct. Tactics packed,
our task ahead.

Direct action.
Its gets heated,
people start to feel empowered
with the cops retreating,
but its a ruse.
Soon they let loose
with senseless beatings.

Overreaction.
Block streets and charge
at us with horses,
to intimidate of course.
[all go through the motions]

Of course it's all just bait,
designed to aggravate
a crowd's emotions
Instigate fear and commotion.

Plain-clothed units infiltrate,
with hidden weapons they inflict
indiscriminate violence midst
the panic of the crush.

Now badges are removed,
Gloved hands brush glocks.
The rushing crowd throws rocks,
so forming poses
for the shots that show the
cops were merely victims.

Oh, we know they'll smell like roses
on the news at six o'clock.

Yes, we are scared
as the night falls. So what
if we are right? Now
we each, alone, must choose.
Try and run away
from here,
or stay and fight?

One voice no longer.
Once more, must
we settle for surrender
to the choice of
hate
or fear?

[if only we were stronger]

Surrounded.
So stand our ground,
around us, all strength that
we could ever need.
We found
respect, reflected
in the eyes of equals.

I was proud to stand
beside you. I would bleed-. No,
I would die for you.

Defiant,
we held our heads erect,
in bliss, amongst the
burned out wrecks and weeds,

We turned
and kissed.

Sister.
True resistor. My beloved
Anarquista. Above the barricades,
we embrace like ancient gods.
Burning cars groan,
spit and crack glass.
True fire flickers in our eyes.

This smoldering love,
we cannot hold.
Like a hot coal it burns you.
and it burns me too.

Lover,
always we'll be
free, and bold.

So, let's swear to never-ever:
-do as we are told,
-act our ages,
-obey the rules,
-allow our secrets to be sold,
Lets disregard authorities,
whomsoever they may be.

They rent us our own cages,
for a fee.

Tomorrow's not what they said
it would be.

Tonight, my love,
rage and passion,
might just be enough,
to ignite this soulless city.

.: Facing Homelessness

Yeah. No fucking joke. My cat is staying with a friend & all my music/pc gear is going in storage.. [no i dont have a laptop]. If you can help in anyway with a room or a couch to crash on, email me. alcorrupt@gmail.com

.: Kung Fu Film - Master of the Flying Guillotine

This is one of the dopest old school Kung Fu films I have ever seen.
So fucking badass - it is the inspiration for the Streetfighter arcade games and Kill Bill - for starters.
Viddy well

.: A playable record made from ice

Its not easy to have the coolest record ever.. just ask the show-offs, in 'The Shout Out Louds'.

They have released 'Blue Ice' as a limited edition of latex moulds - designed to be filled with distilled water, then frozen and played immediately by earnest nordic hipsters.

Then, I guess you mop up - and presumably throw out your [now ruined] turntable.
“One of the biggest challenges was that the bubbles made the ice cloudy and messed up the tiny tracks, which made the needle jump.” Further trial and error revealed that using distilled water did the trick, giving the final product a nice clarity and even surface. Another insight? Time is not, in fact, on your side when working with a frozen substance; functionality and sound quality diminish immediately once the melting starts. A silicone cast allowed for quick and easy record removal, essential to ensuring it could be used straight out of the freezer."

.: Dirtbox - The lost tapes: 02

Download the show - here

This is an hour and a half of a show I did near the end of 1999.
Just me and two technics, cranking away in the 2SER studio.

Enjoy.

* The short harsh sound indicates the edits where tape damage, needles skipping, station breaks etc occur.

.: Video - Plan B - ill Manors

Apologies if this old news but it's new to me.
Not the London Riots, but this clip explains more than those lip-flapping media c*nts could manage in the days following the LDN Uprising.

.: The Vice Law of Cool: Square derivatives of the diminishing value of Cool. Socio-Thermodynamic Theory and Hipstanomic Application .

It's science time:
Science and Math.
(ok - some satire)

The experiment in the following video was conducted by the cutting-edge social technicians at Vice. (Vice Institute of Cool Extraction - Hipstanomics Dept).
It predictably demonstrates one of the fundamental laws of Cool.
(Cool being a value of social temperature).
Study of the theoretical values of  social temperature is known as the field of Socio-thermodynamics.
Its practical applications are known as Hipstanomics.

If  we say

Cool = C

then

C x C ≠ C²

Whenever the value of Cool is squared, the result will always be W

W = Wack

and as we know,
Wack is the inverse of Cool,
expressed here as

W = -C

therefore

C x C = W

or

C² = W

or simply

C² = -C

so we have proven that Cool to the power of Cool, cannot be anything other than the inverse of Cool itself. expressed in the video below as:

lightsaber x segway = Wack

[Nb: At the time of writing the cool value of a segway is negligible but measurable]

Vice lead the industry in deriving and extracting the value of Cool, and the huge amount of wealth involved, means only they can afford the technology required for this kind of research.
Therefore I propose we name this fundamental law of Socio-thermodynamics:

The Vice law of Diminishing Cool Values.

Bam!
Give me a fucking job.

.: Shut up about 9\11 .. unless you are KRS1

Video Link

In this video interview from WeAreChange, hip-hop legend KRS-1 expounds on 9/11, asking why the Zadroga Act isn’t providing more medical coverage for first responders, explaining how his South Bronx roots informed his experience and feelings about the day’s tragic events, and discussing his and other rappers’ skepticism of the mainstream media and its official take on the attacks. “I’ve been criticized in the past for not being as sensitive as I probably should be to the event itself, and that’s warranted,” he says. “I slept in the World Trade Center when I was homeless, back in ’83 to ’85…to the hood, the Trade Center looked like two horns in the sky. We didn’t have nothing to do with that building. We know that the wealth of the people was getting sucked into them two towers. That’s what we know”
