I have moved house. I wll post more about that, but this article was lying around, ready to post.

This is nothing special, just some ye olde style warehouse tek - made in audiotool.com,
It took about 30 mins, over at a friends place.
All you need is a browser with flash and an internet connection.
Go there and open the actual track - you can see how i have used the different sound and fx. Then remix it if you feel like it.
Join the site - and post results below in the comments.. get a prize!




Audiotool is an online app / software environment, has a great array of effective and intuitive sound generators and access to a massive community library of samples other people have uploaded and made freely available with CC licences. If you can already sample and loop, then just upload away, and add your own loops to the Audiotool preset banks in the 'Cloud'.
Soon other people will be using your sounds in their tunes and you will get a contributing production credit, on the tracks they publish.

Over the last week, I am ashamed to say, I have been working on an international arms trade fair.

Right here in the middle of Sydney - at Darling Harbour.
Called the Pacific Maritime Expo, it didn't even seem to raise an eyebrow.

I wanted to walk out on the first day,

- walk out of an event that offends every one of the principles I so readily espouse.

But I found, in Sydney 2012, those principles are too expensive for people like me.
Living week to week, it seems I can no longer afford them.

Part of my soul has died.

It seemed none of my friends shared my outrage, as I ranted about the injustice, after my first day there.

Don't get passionate about something anymore, -you could be mistaken for a fanatic.

A terrorist.

Too gutless to try and sabotage the event when I had the chance.., as if I could..

Even if I knew how to make a bomb belt without killing myself [hard],

-and got it into the set up [easy],

I wouldn't come near to taking out any of the real scumbags,

I would have only taken out the contractors, working poor like me.

The whole thing was done low key, and at first we thought it was just a boat show,

But it soon became clear, this was a full on Naval Military Expo.

Drones, missiles, and surviellance bugs that look like jellyfish,

- the future is inhuman.

When I told the people around me what this event was really about
..all I got was blank stares.

Over 20 years ago now.

I wasn't there, but I remember the response in the community.

Create Your Own Mixtape This site is a kind of advertisment (for some movie called  'Submarine') - however, it's also a very good idea. It lets you compile a mixtape from any youtube clip and share the result. Because, youtube is now the easiest place to find obscure recordings on the internet, obviously...

So, I modified my crappy old nokia camera-phone with a small fisheye lens, because the plastic lens-cover broke.     

The lens was salvaged from an old LED torch, that had a spot type beam.

It was just an experiment, since the phone took shitty photos anyway.

Wow, was I suprised!
It won't focus on anything further than 10cm from the lens, however the depth of field effect is wicked. If I had another camera, I'd take a photo of the phone.
Anyway, I spent a day capturing the tiny parts of my neighbourhood.
The results are quite cool.

It looks like a still from 'Lord of the Rings' but it's not, it's a real home, in Wales.
This incredible hobbit-like house was handmade by a man named Simon Dale.

He'll even tell you how to do it on his website and he makes it sound fun and easy;

"The house was built with maximum regard for the environment and by reciprocation gives us a unique opportunity to live close to nature. Being your own (have a go) architect is a lot of fun and allows you to create and enjoy something which is part of yourself and the land rather than, at worst, a mass produced box designed for maximum profit and convenience of the construction industry. Building from natural materials does away with producers profits and the cocktail of carcinogenic poisons that fill most modern buildings."
'I am not a builder or carpenter, my experience is only having a go at one similar house 2yrs before and a bit of mucking around inbetween. This kind of building is accessible to anyone. My main relevant skills were being able bodied, having self belief and perseverence and a mate or two to give a lift now and again."
